About Career Compass Leeds
Career Compass Leeds is an exploration tool that aims to inform, inspire and open doors to health and social care careers in Leeds. It provides you with all the information you need to think about working in the sector. Career Compass Leeds can be used by anyone wanting to know more about the available opportunities.
The tool has been developed in partnership with Leeds health and care employers, colleges, universities and schools. It is based on the information provided to the Leeds Health and Care Academy by the hundreds of young people we worked with in the design and production process.
Career Compass Leeds is for everyone, we will continue to develop it to ensure the tool remains relevant and helpful.
About Leeds Health and Care Academy
The ambition of the Health and Care Academy is for Leeds to be the best city for learning and working in the sector. So that there are progressive, diverse careers for all students and staff, inspiring the next generation of health and care workers. We contribute to the ambition for Leeds to be a healthy and caring city for all ages, where people who are the poorest improve their health the fastest.
The Academy delivers a range of strategic and practical activities by working with our partners to provide opportunities for skills, jobs and learning. All of our work is driven by the need to address health inequalities in Leeds by having a strong and sustainable health and care workforce. This includes:
- Workforce Planning to help us understand the size and shape of the health and care workforce across Leeds, including the City Workforce Profile 2024
- The Learning Portal that can be accessed by anyone working or volunteering in a Health and Care role in Leeds.
