What is the purpose of the Career Compass Leeds?
Career Compass Leeds is a website designed for the people of Leeds. The website draws together health and care careers information and signposting, to enable you to navigate the diverse range of opportunities across Leeds.
Why are you doing this?
The aim of Career Compass Leeds is to inform, inspire and open doors for the people of Leeds, into the health and care sector.
Do I have to register to use the website?
No. It is up to you to decide whether or not to register.
If you decide to register you will be asked questions about yourself to help direct you to the most useful information on the website. We will ask you to consent to share this information, and some personal details, with us. If you decide to register you are still free to withdraw at any time. You won’t have to give us any specific reason for withdrawing. If you decide not to register, or change your mind and withdraw, this is fine.
If you do not register you may still use the website and its information.
What will happen to my data?
Your data will be held by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We will not share your data with any other organisations. We may contact you at regular intervals once you have registered, including after 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 months.
You can delete you account in the my account and then the my details section by selecting delete account at the bottom of the screen or you can email leedsth-tr.careercompassleeds@nhs.net
Your data will also be used for the following reasons:
• To contact you via email to share relevant information and updates about opportunities for education, training, volunteering and work experience.
• To contact you via email to ask you to take part in focus groups, interviews or research related to the website.
• To contact you to remind you about the website and how you can use it to support your career exploration.
• To anonymously share high-level trends and themes in how users are accessing and using the website. Your personal data will not be shared but will be aggregated and anonymised for this purpose.
• If we identify potential future opportunities for employment, training, work experience or volunteering that might be available via the Leeds Health and Care Academy Talent Hub.
Your data will not be used for any other purpose than the points detailed above.
What happens to the data once the organisations have finished with it?
Leeds Teaching Hospitals will hold onto your data so we can monitor your progress with the project for up to 7 years. Once we have finished with your data it will be securely destroyed. Any research/evaluation reports following the projects will be kept for 7 years before being destroyed.
Will information about me be kept confidential?
Your personal information will be kept confidential and your data will be stored in line with the Data Protection Act 2018; using appropriate security.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals will retain your information to enable us to support you to explore employment, volunteering, training, and employability support as appropriate.
