Residential Practitioner

You will support, encourage and enable children and young people to develop in order that they may deliver positive contributions to their families, society, and local communities, Fostering positive relationships, encouraging strong bonds between children and staff on the basis of jointly undertaken activities, shared daily life, daily routines, and established boundaries of acceptable behaviour.

How to become

You will need to have a good standard of literacy and numeracy with basic computer literacy.
 
You will need to have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent, or be committed to achieving the qualification in a reasonable time.
 
You will need recent experience supporting children or young people with additional emotional/behavioural issues, this may be from employment, volunteering, student placements or personal life.
